CHA Mega Show in Anaheim is arranged every January, and it is considered as an opening for the crafting year. In this event manufacturer's are showcasing their new products and product lines, and by going around the show area you get a pretty good idea of what's hot in the new year.
Last year the some of the most popular topics were pocket scrapbooking, chalkboard, natural textures (burlap, cork, canvas), and bright and bold colours. This year pocket scrapbooking continues to be popular and chalkboard elements are available in some collections, but I think these 5 elements got this year more attention at the show:
PlannersPocket scrapbooking continues to be popular among paper crafters, but many manufacturers have introduced planners as an alternative option for documenting daily life. Planners are designed to keep, organize and manage daily tasks, but they can also hold photos, tickets, receipts and such keepsakes. In addition to the planner covers there are several insert sets available - with matching embellishment sets, of course :)
Hand Lettered Elements
Hand written fonts are everywhere. You see them in stamps, stencils, dies, patterned papers, journaling cards, stickers and home decór items.
I wish I was better in lettering, and be able to make those beautiful written embellishments myself!
Gold And Other Metallic ColoursThis year gold seems to be the most common accent colour. Various types of foil offer other metallic colours to choose from, too, and metallic cardstock is available with out without glitter. This year our paper crafting project will shine!
StencilsMaybe it is because of the growing interest in mixed media, almost every manufacturer seemed to have a collection of stencils. However, many collections contain the same basic patterns of honeycombs, harlequins, brick walls and punchinella, but luckily there are also many new, fresh and inspiring designs available. I saw many stencils I'll need to get; with hand written texts, doodling, nature elements or grungy textures!

Candy Colours and Watercolour Textures
When looking at new paper collections you soon realize that year 2015 is filled with delicious candy colours. In many sets the sweet colour tones are spiced and freshened with white and a hint of black. Watercolours continue to be popular, but in addition to the softest pink also other colours are taken into use.
DIY Kits For Home DecórDecorating home with self-made items has always been popular. DIY project kits help in getting started, as they offer well instructed, beautiful and simple projects for crafters with various skill levels. In addition to canvas pictures and wooden boards that can be displayed throughout the year there are decoration kits available for every festive occasion. Colourful banners, tissue paper garlands and puffy flowers will decorate many birthdays this year!
What are the items you find inspiring in 2015? Are there other hot trends that are not mentioned in this list?
