Destination Unknown

Hi and Happy Wednesday!
Today I'm showing you a card and ATC set I made last weekend:

The new Visible Image 'Destination Unknown' stamp set can be used in so many ways! This time I placed the fussy cut stamped paper plane images on a simple inked background that I decorated with stamped words and die-cut house silhouettes.

I love the fact that the same stamped images work so well on both larger and smaller backgrounds: I first made the bigger card, but had to try making an ATC, too :)

Easy Easter cards

Hi!
Time to make cards for Easter!
I took an easy and simple approach: Stamped the images on mixed media cardstock, covered the image edges with masking fluid, painted the background with watercolours and coloured the images with Promarkers. Done!

Easy Easter Cards with Stampin' Up!

The size of the square card base is quite small; 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm). But there was just enough space for the lovely chicken and the cute little egg; they are both from my new Stampin' Up! set 'Hey, Chick'.

Bright yellows and greens boosted my spring mood: Winter is soon over!

Wishing you a sunny day, thanks for stopping by!

Card for Craft Stamper TIMI: Great Adventure

Hi!
Hope your week has gone well. For me this weekend will be filled with stamping and paper crafting fun: I'm going to attend three workshops by Liesbeth Fidder  and do some shopping at a local paper crafting fair. Isn't that the perfect way to relax and end a busy working week! I've met Liesbeth a few times before; love her style and the way she's teaching and sharing her knowledge with us. Attending her workshops is always a true pleasure!

As a 'warm-up' for the weekend's stamping classes I made a second card for Craft Stamper March Take It Make It challenge:

I stamped the lovely Art Impressions image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on heavy, semi-glossy paper, coloured the image with Promarkers, and cut out. The background is made from light blue, green and grey scrap paper pieces; I thought that a simple background was the perfect choise for highlighting the colourful main image. The fussy cut image is attached on the background with 3D foam stickers.
For the black quote text I used a new stamp by Visible Image.

If you have not yet linked your stamped project to our TIMI challenge I suggest you hop over to Craft Stamper blog to read the challenge details and to see all the projects created by our design team and the inspiring collection of pictures already linked to the challenge. The sponsor prize by DaliART is really worth playing for!

Wishing you a great weekend!

True Colours

Hi!
I have heard from Helen at Visible Image that the new Face It! stamps have been very popular. No wonder, as the set is just perfect for so many different kinds of projects. Last time I made an art journal page, and this time a card using pastel pencils for colouring:

Pastel pencils are fun to work with as they blend together so nicely. For blocking the colours from blending too much, the colours need to be fixed with a fixative spray. Instead of the quite expensive art store fixative I like to use simple hair spray for fastening the colour; it works just as well! Once the hairspray was dry I added another layer of colour, sprayed again, and added more colour...
Pastel colours work well also on darker surfaces, like on the kraft card base I used here.

For the face outline I used the matching stencil; the stamps and the stencil work so nicely together. Hope you give it a try, too!

Here are pictures of the Visible Image products I used (click on the pictures for more info):

Flower card for a dear friend

Hi!
Can you believe it's March already? When you look outside it's hard to think that spring is soon here; at least here in Finland the weather is still pretty cold keeping the ground snowy and icy. Well, if the current weather makes you only dream about the warm sunny spring days, you need to create the spring feeling yourself with blooming, colourful things:

This card I made for a good friend of mine. I had the pleasure to meet her last week over a nice dinner- Thank you R for a nice evening!

The lovely stamp set is 'Encouragement' by Jasmine Jones at Studio Calico. I heat embossed the image and coloured with watercolors. Pink seed beads and a light purple ribbon put the finishing touch on the card.

I hope you have time to take out your stamps, too, as it is time for a new Craft Stamper Take It Make It challenge. Participating is simple: 'Anything Goes' as long as you have used stamping somewhere on your project. Our lovely sponsor this month is DaliART, and one lucky winner will get a wonderful set of stamps and stencils:
