Koreja sanomalehdestä - Baskets made of newspaper

Maalasin korin pariin kertaan gessolla. Maalin kuivuttua koristelin korit lautasliinoista leikatuilla kuvioilla, jotka kiinnitin decoupage-lakalla. Maali ja lakattu kuvio tekivät koreista tosi tukevia, joten niille löytyy varmasti monenlaista käyttöä.

Supplies for these 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm sized baskets are super cheap: All you need is 9 pages of newspaper you fold into 3,5 cm wide strips. Of course the basket size will vary depending on the newspaper page size - I have used pages from our local newspaper 'Helsingin Sanomat' that has a page size of 56 cm x 40 cm.

For the basket base you need 3+3 folded strips and for the sides you need 3 more. When the baskets were ready I painted them with white gesso (a few layers were needed for covering the newspaper ink) and embellished with napking images attached with decoupage glue.
