Colouring stamped images is one of my favorite crafting activities. I use my coloured images not only on greeting cards, but also on ATCs, tags, and art journal pages. Most of the time, I stamp the image with black ink onto white cardstock (I have a rather large collection of stamps!), but over the years I've also added a few digital stamps to my collection and used them for colouring, too.
One of my favorite digital stamp designers is Janet Klein, whose designs are available from Vera Lane Studio. Janet also designs products for AALL & Create these days, so her wonderfully quirky character illustrations are now available as more traditional photopolymer clear stamps as well.
For this layout, I used two older Janet Klein digital stamps from the Journal Faces set. The floral hair accessories are also by the same designer. I printed the images with an inkjet printer onto a lightly glossy cardstock, which works nicely with alcohol markers. For these images, I used Promarker alcohol markers to bring the characters to life.
The typewritten quotes were fussy cut from Dina Wakley's Typed Ledgers collage sheets, while the circles in the background were cut from an old piece of patterned paper.
I used the same elements and techniques on a matching tag as well. I think it turned out really nicely!
