Card for April Take It, Make It Challenge: Live a colorful life

Hi and happy Easter!

I love the fact that the long and dark winter is soon over and the first signs of spring are already to be seen. In my garden the crocuses are nearly blooming, and in just a few days I'm able to enjoy all their lovely colours. Can't wait!

This month Craft Stamper Magazine Take It, Make It challenge is all about colours, too. Again there are amazing prizes to be won, so grab your stamps and colourful papers and play along!

Here's my card for your inspiration:

For this project I took out my box of scrap papers, as I wanted to colour the group of girlfriends with stamped and fussy cut pieces of paper. I started with stamping the image on white cardstock, and repeated the stamp on pieces of scrap paper. What a great way to utilize your scraps!
Stamp: 'Girlfriends' by Art Impressions.

The stamped collage is glued down on a strip of yellow cardstock and attached on the card backround with 3D stickers.

For the background I chose a simple dark pink cardstock. I die-cut a circle using one of the large dies in this Sizzix die set, and used the circle as stencil when inking the middle of the background with purple Distress ink. I made the yellow frame by placing two large circle dies on the cutting plate, die-cuting the circle frame from scrap cardstock, and wrapping yellow embroidery yarn around it. Wrapping the frame with yarn takes a bit of patience, but the result looks nice and is worth the effort :D !
