"How long is forever? Sometimes, just one second"

Hi and happy Wednesday,

Last Sunday my daughter and I went to see the new movie 'Alice Through the Looking Glass'. Alice in Wonderland stories were my childhood favourites, and we were both excited about the new film. We don't go to movies too often, but this one we wanted to see on the premiere weekend. And in 3D!

I loved the story and the numerous time quotes that inspired me to make a time themed mixed media card using the Visible Image White Rabbit stamp set:

For the background I used a piece of white mixed media cardstock I first embossed with Sizzix Big Shot, using a clock themed Sizzix/Tim Holtz embossing folder. Then I painted the background with cream white and red acrylic paints and once the paint was dry I covered the embossed and painted cardstock with black antiquing cream. I wiped the excess antiquing cream with wet cloth revealing the embossed image; the antiquing cream can easily be processed until sealed with a thin layer of varnish.
For more info on this cool technique please have a look at the tutorial video by Andy Skinner (link to You Tube here!).

For creating even a more metallic look I dry brushed the embossed clocks with gold metallic paint before applying the varnish. Love the finished look!

I stamped the White Rabbit and the texts on plain white cardstock, coloured them with ProMarkers, cut out, and glued on the card front. Done!

Wishing you a wonderful day!
