January Mixed Media Card Challenge: More inspiration!

Hi!
Have you already entered your card for January Mixed Media Card Challenge? The theme 'Beginnings' can be interpret in so many ways, and I'm hoping to see your project among the challenge entries!
Just follow this link to MMCC blog to see the challenge rules and to view all the amazing entries!

My second January project is about celebrating a beginning; the beginning of the new year, the beginning of a marriage and life together, or the beginning of an important era in life. So with this card I'm raising the glass for year 2016- let it be amazing!

This card was made on heavy watercolour paper, as I wanted to decorate the background with vibrant watercolours. For protecting the stamped image I covered it with masking fluid:

Once the mask was dry I coloured the background with yellow and orange watercolours. In addition, I added some texture using a dot stencil, gel medium and Distress Glitter. When the gel medium was dry I removed the masking fluid.

I coloured the glasses and the champagne with markers, and for creating a glassy finish I covered the glasses and the champagne splatters with Glossy Accents.

The flowers I stamped on red cardstock, added some shadow with markers, cut out, and glued on the card. Some petals were re-stamped on another red cardstock, cut out, and layered on top of the flower.

I hope you get inspired and play along!

Wishing you a nice day.
Hugs,

  2. Wonderful card, Elina! I like the dimension from the dot stencil, and the colours are so vibrant. Pretty stamp, too.
