Our TIMI January challenge is called ‘Take A Stamp’. It's really simple: Just use a stamp somewhere in your art! In other words, use stamping on any kind of project; a card, a tag, a layout, a piece of home decór - you name it! How cool is that!

The project I am sharing today is this card:

Making it was so much fun!

I started with misting the background with light purple and blue colours, and stenciling some random gel medium stars on the sides. Gel medium acted as resist on the background, so when I rubbed some darker blue and purple inks on the background the stars kept the original misted background colours.

I continued with stamping the girl image (using black StazOn as I was stamping on gel medium, too), and covering it with masking fluid.

Then I added more stamped textures on the card: I used black and dark blue inks and my text, cracle, and zig zag stamps. Once finished I removed the masking fluid.

For the upper part of the card I used one of my favorite techniques: Stamping on tissue paper (same stamp and technique I used for my paper mache horse makeover project here). I trimmed the stamped image to fit on the card, and glued it down with gel medium.

I hope you like my little card!

Layout for 123 Get Scrappy January challenge: Imagine

Hi and greeting from CHA!

What a great time I had in Anaheim! A full week of meeting friends and meeting new people, taking workshops and seminars, and looking at great new projects and product releases. Later this week you will hear more about the amazing times I had, so stay tuned!
(For CHA sneak peeks I suggest you visit my Instagram *here* :D!!)

In the meanwhile I want to show you a layout I made for *123 Get Scrappy! January challenge*. Here's the grid for you to play with:

On my layout I used the left vertical row; Clock - White Background - Rhinestones:

This layout was all about fussy cutting! There are lots of layered and clustered flowers, and as the patterned paper did not have too many leaf images I decided to die-cut them myself, using my *all-time favorite Bigz die*. The die-cut leaves are covered with Gold Crackle texture paste by Finnabair/Prima. I really like how they turned out!

The clocks are embossed on white paper using a Sizzix embossing folder 'Pocket Watches and Strampunk'. For highlighting the clocks I inked them with pink Distress. Same technique was used on the music notes.

Layout title 'Imagine' is die-cut from pink, white-washed cardstock I sanded with a sanding block. Love that Movers and Shapers die by Tim Holtz!

Under the photo there are several die-cut swirly shapes; *this die* was one I used.

I hope you get inspired and play along! Wishing you a nice weekend!

Card for January MMCC. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

A new great year of inspiration has started. I think I have the perfect start for 2015: I will be spending the first two weeks in Anaheim CA at CHA! This is the second time I'm attending the worlds greatest paper and hand crafts show, and I'm as excited as last year!!

Today we kick off another Mixed Media Card Challenge, too. January theme is 'New', and with this card I want to wish you all the best for 2015:

I colored the background with Pan Pastels, and after fixing the colour with hair spray I draw the fireworks with glitter glue. I have to say that I'm not a big fan of glitter glue; I do have many bottles in my stash, but have found them quite hard to use. However, when making this card I enjoyed playing with them, and who knows, maybe you'll see some more glitter on my future projects!

Check out the gorgeous cards of the MMCC here, get inspired, kick-off your crafting year, and play along!

Hugs,
